Code of Conduct

Please discuss this with your child before signing. These rules are for the safety and comfort of ALL dancers and parents.

Studio Rules for Parents & Dancers

  • All young children must be supervised. No running, yelling or rough playing at the dance studio.
  • Help keep the studio clean and tidy. Please throw away all trash in the bins provided.
  • No gossip, obscene language or inappropriate conversations — by either parents or dancers.
  • Friends and family are not allowed to observe class; they must remain outside the studio or in the garden. Watching Day is the last lesson of every month.
  • No gum, food or drink of any kind (except water) is allowed inside the studio rooms.
  • Promptness is extremely important. Students should arrive early to warm up and be properly dressed.
  • Angry dialogue, foul language and physical threats will not be tolerated. Parents and/or students displaying this behaviour may be asked to leave.
  • Addressing Issues: Sensitive matters must be raised with Uné only, outside of class time. Do not address concerns involving other parents or children at the studio.
  • For age 13+: As an older dancer and role model, inappropriate or negative discussions are not allowed in front of younger dancers. It is the dancer's responsibility to manage their time so that dance, schoolwork and other activities do not conflict.

Dance Etiquette

Our primary goal is for your children to have fun while learning dance technique and strong work ethics. We expect all dancers to show respect to themselves, to each other and all teachers.

  • Be prepared for class. Proper dress code is required for all dance classes.
  • Hair must be pulled up. No exceptions.
  • Use the bathroom prior to class.
  • Be on time. If late, apologise and ask permission to join class.
  • No cell phones during class.
  • Be respectful and kind to teachers, peers and staff.
  • Do not talk during class unless asking a question.
  • Practice safe behaviours for yourself and your classmates.
  • Be willing to try new dance material. Put positive energy into your dance class.
  • If injured, tell the instructor prior to class — work slowly and carefully or observe.
  • If ill, do not come to class — please excuse yourself via email or WhatsApp.
  • If you must leave early, notify the instructor prior to class.
  • When leaving the studio during cooler weather, do not go outside without a warm-up. Please respect your art by keeping your dance attire confined to the studio.
